Otto van Veen (1556–1629), also called Otto Venius, was a Flemish Renaissance painter, humanist scholar, and teacher of Peter Paul Rubens. Trained in Italy, he introduced Italian classicism to Antwerp painting. Beyond altarpieces and historical scenes, he became known for emblem books that combined classical learning with moral and religious themes.
