Lorenzo Lotto (c. 1480–1556/57) was an Italian Renaissance painter known for psychologically penetrating portraits and expressive religious works. Active in Venice and the Marche, he blended Venetian colorism with Northern detail and devotional intensity. His independent style distinguished him from contemporaries such as Titian.
