Giovanni Battista Tiepolo

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696–1770) was an Italian painter and printmaker of the Venetian school, celebrated as one of the greatest masters of 18th-century Rococo. His luminous frescoes and altarpieces extend Baroque ceiling tradition with light, colour, and elegant theatricality. He worked across Italy and in Germany and Spain, leaving a vast, influential body of work.
