Annibale Carracci (1560–1609) was an influential Italian Baroque painter from Bologna who helped lead the shift away from Mannerism back toward the classical values of the High Renaissance, combining naturalism with emotional depth. He worked in Bologna and later in Rome, where his frescoes for the Palazzo Farnese set a new standard for Baroque art.
